Picture book canvas sizes for Amazon KDP
Set up your canvas at these sizes before you start drawing. They are 300 DPI, the resolution KDP recommends for print, and include the 0.125" bleed KDP needs on the top, bottom and outside edge of every page. There is no bleed at the spine, where the pages meet.

Tips before you draw
- Draw spreads as one wide canvas. Use the spread size for art that runs across two facing pages; it is split at the fold when you lay out the book.
- Keep text and faces in the safe area. Stay at least 113 px (0.375") inside the trim edge, and keep faces and words out of the middle of a spread, where the fold swallows detail.
- Art in the bleed gets trimmed. Paint all the way to the canvas edge, but expect about 38 px (0.125") to be cut off on the outside, top and bottom.
- Set the document to 300 DPI in Procreate, Photoshop or Krita at these pixel sizes. Lower-resolution art can print soft.
