BookSpreader is built so that your work stays with you.

What stays on your device

Your books, illustrations, text and settings are stored in your browser and in the folder you choose on your computer. They are never uploaded to us.

License checks. When you unlock a book, the app sends your license key and an identifier for that book to Lemon Squeezy to confirm the purchase. After that, the unlock is remembered on your device and no further check is made.
Automatic unlock after checkout. The checkout link carries a random identifier for the book you are buying for. When Lemon Squeezy confirms the order, our server stores that book identifier with its license key (never your name, email or book contents) so the app can unlock the book without you pasting the key. While a book is locked, the app asks our server whether a key is waiting for it. These records are kept so the automatic unlock keeps working; email us to have yours deleted.
Purchases. Checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive your order details (such as name, email and what you bought) to provide support and refunds.
Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
